Islands

Charming islands and peninsulas are scattered along the Baltic Sea coast of Mecklenburg. The Isle of Poel and Wustrow peninsula are within easy reach of Heiligendamm and are great destinations for day trips.

Isle of Poel
Mecklenburg's largest island has a lot to offer everyone, no matter what your age. Old manor houses and farms, cobbled avenues and the old castle wall complex invite you to enjoy an interesting day trip here. There are also old lighthouses, old schoolhouses, museums and the island church. If the weather shouldn't play ball, there's also an indoor playground for small explorers.
