Grandhotel Heiligendamm - Ronny Siewert

Ronny Siewert

Ronny Siewert was practically born with a passion for cooking.

Born in 1978 in Nienburg an der Saale, Saxony-Anhalt, he was fascinated from a young age by what goes on in the kitchen and curious about everything to do with the subject. He spent the bulk of his free time in the kitchen where his father worked, who is himself a chef de cuisine, and reproduced all the culinary delights that he saw being created in his father's kitchen. His father taught him the basics  that enabled him to go on to become a young and successful chef.

Afetr gaining his secondary school qualification, Ronny Siewert completed his chef's apprenticeship working for Henning Steller in the Maritim Hotel Halle. This was followed by six formative years working for Heinz Winkler at Residenz Heinz Winkler in Aschau, working at the Dieter Müller Restaurant in Schlosshotel Lerbach and working under Helmut Thieltges in the Waldhotel Sonnora. In 2005 Siewert became chef de cuisine at the Chezann Restaurant in Warnemünde and was awarded his first Michelin star.

He has been head chef at the Friedrich Franz Gourmet Restaurant in Grand Hotel Heiligendamm since March 2008. In 2012 Ronny Siewert and his team managed to retain that Michelin star and also increase the restaurant's Gault Millau rating from 17 to 18 Gault Millau points.
